Celia M. Rosa

March 7, 1926 — May 10, 2017

On May 10, 2017, God reached out his hand and took his precious daughter Celia home with him to eternal peace and comfort. She will be deeply missed beyond words. Celia was born on March 7, 1926 in Lorain to Maria Morales Zaldivar and Guadalupe Zaldivar. At a young age she went to work at U.S. Steel to help support the family after her father fell ill and had also worked as a translater. She later married and started her own family, residing in Youngstown most of her life. Celia had a powerful love and faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended New Beginnings Church for fellowship and prayer. She was the true meaning of a "Matriarch". She was a talented artist and enjoyed listening to her Christian & Mexican music but was mostly known for her excellent Mexican cooking. A tradition she handed down that will always be with us. She fed many people that walked through her doors and nobody ever left hungry. She was a loving, fun, warm, generous and compassionate person who was always helping people in need. Celia leaves her sister, Frances Pena of San Jose, CA; her daughters, Raquel G. Magallon of Cornersburg, Juliann Esquivel of Homestead, FL and Rosanna D. Agostinelli of North Lima; her sons, Frank Acs of Madrid, Spain, Alex P. Acs of Denver, CO, Norbert "Freddy" Mondragon of Hollywood, FL and Ralph C. Magallon of Austintown; 26 grandchildren, numerous gr. grandchildren and gr. gr. grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she held close to her heart and shared many memories with. She will especially be missed by her loving and devoted grandson, Ryan G. Magallon, Sr. of Austintown, who adored his grandma and showered her with unconditional love, comfort and support, always by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving companion, Edward "Eddo" Pallay, whom she made her home with for many years; her sisters, Eva Arredondo and Carmen Zaldivar; her beloved son, Raul Magallon and her grandson, Jason R. Magallon McInnis, who she deeply cherished. The family would like to express their gratitude to Kim Moore for her continued kindness and compassion and also to Southern Hospice for their gentle and kind compassionate care. Celia will be honored on Saturday May 20th at a private memorial service. Flowers and condolences can be sent to Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel.
