Charlene Fields

Charlene Fields, of Alliance, passed away at 4:10 pm. Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Alliance Community Hospital. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Fields was born on January 22, 1928 in Youngstown the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Wahneta (Allen) Schisler. Mrs. Fields retired in 1997 from Copeland Oaks Retirement Community where she was head of the Dietary Department for 30 years. A member of Berlin Center United Methodist Church, she enjoyed swimming and playing cards. She attended many local church dinners with friends and was an avid sports fan especially the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mrs. Fields was married on November 20, 1946 to Lynn E. Fields and they were married for 57 years until his passing on January 2, 2004. Mrs. Fields is survived by a daughter Dr. Bonnie Fields of Alliance; a brother Ronald L. Schisler of Canfield; and two sisters-in-laws Janet Schisler of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Rema Lewis of Greenwood, SC; nieces and nephews, Wendy S. Gabes, Kurt E. Schisler, CPA, Erik Schisler, Barbara Heckman, Linda Lewis, Betty Lou Doyle and Sandra Hughes; and by a number of great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by a brother Larry A. Schisler. A Funeral Service celebrating Charlene's life will take place on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel with Pastor Russ Libb as celebrant. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. As a sign of condolence, friends are asked to make memorial contributions in Charlene's name to Berlin Center United Methodist Church.
