Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for Charles Cox of 3003 Republic Ave., Howland who died Sunday afternoon at his residence. Charles was born July 2, 1921 in Clinton, PA. A son of Clark and Ida (Marshall) Cox. He had retired July 2, 1981 from Anchor Motor Freight where he had been a truck driver for 40 years. He had served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline K. (O’Donnell) Cox whom he had married Aug. 18, 1970; four children Mary Binion of Warren, Charles, Jr. of Niles, Jess of Girard, and Richard Cox of Warren; two sisters Myrtle Carpenter of Howland and Anne Runtas of Howland; two brothers Lloyd of Paris, PA and Donald Cox of Burgettstown, PA; and seven granddaughters and two grandsons. He is preceded in death by four brothers Morgan “Bumper”, Dale, Wallis, and Lewis Cox and a sister Lucy Cox. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
