Charles F. Foust, Jr, 75, of Girard, OH and Venus, PA passed on Friday, December 27, 2024, at his home in Girard, OH with his wife and sons by his side. He fought long and hard against the Lymphoma, but he was tired.
He was born March 30, 1949, in Warren, OH to Charles F Foust Sr and Pearl (Eddy) Foust. In his younger years he was a champion barrel racer with his palomino. His love of "horsepower" led to a never-ending collection of Corvettes, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and John Deere tractors. He loved to race at Sunset Dragway for many years.
He was a 1967 graduate of Mathews High School, Vienna, OH.
He decided to start his own business in 1968 with a $500.00 trencher. He went on to become one of the largest and trusted concrete contractors in Youngstown, OH.
He was married to Margie Moorehead Morris on August 31, 2000, in Vienna, OH by Judge Ronald J. Rice, a lifetime friend. Chuck and Margie were a "couple of gypsies" going between their home in Girard to the farm in Venus, PA. They also made many trips to their camp in Benezette, PA and spent the winter months in their home in Bushnell, FL.
He enjoyed building a job, farming, riding his Harley, and cooking. He hunted all over the United States and Canada. He coached Little League Baseball for 12 years.
He was a member of Cortland Masonic Lodge #529; Scottish Rite; Operating Engineers Local 66; Fryburg Sportsman Club and Sinnemahoning Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his wife Margie; sons Greg (Amie) of Asheville, NC; Ron (Joyce) of Salem, OH; Chuck III (Jaime) of Girard, OH and daughter Sara Childers of Ten Mile Lake, OR; his sister Jane Dahman of Fowler, OH; brothers-in-law Mark (Liane) Moorehead of Benezette, PA; Ken (MaryLou) Moorehead of Oil City, PA; sisters-in-law Brenda (Doug) Warner of Cranberry, PA; Mary Campbell of Meadvile, PA and grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in laws Kenneth and Florence Moorehead, and brothers-in-law Eric Moorehead, Russell Campbell and William Dahman.
Calling hours will be 2-6pm Saturday January 4th, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Rd, Brookfield, OH 44403. Masonic service will be held on Saturday at 2pm. Services will be held 11:00 am Sunday January 5, 2024, with burial at Dugan Cemetery Fowler, OH.
The family requests those attending to dress casual. Jeans, Camo, Harley, John Deere or work clothes.
