Charles Frederick Booty Sr.

Vienna - Charles Frederick Booty Sr., 91, or as he would say, 90 , passed away Monday morning November 19, 2018 at his home. Charles was born on February 18, 1927 in Salem, OH, a son of the late Harry Watson Booty Sr. and Ella Lucille (Bennett) Booty. He graduated from Struthers High School in 1945 but joined the U.S. Navy that April two months before his graduation and served until August 1946. He worked at General Fireproofing in Youngstown as a Security Captain for 38 years until he retired in 1990. He was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church and Grange & Mens Club. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, gardening flowers and vegetables, playing piano and organ, his trip to Europe in 1981 with his daughter and his beloved cat Chloe. Charles will be deeply missed by his children, Charles Booty Jr of Masury, Gregory Booty of Vienna, and Lynda Booty-Canatay of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Jonathan Canatay and Seneca (Booty) Wade; and one brother Donald Booty of Austintown; and by his caretakers, Brandie Pakos, Kim Restaino and the First Light Staff. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Alice May (Crew) Booty, whom he married on December 20, 1947 and passed away on June 2, 2013; a daughter Kathleen May Booty; brothers, Harry Booty Jr., Robert Booty, William Booty and Lee Booty; and a sister, Anna Grace McLaughlin. Friends may visit from 6-8:00PM on Sunday November 25, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel located at 6923 Warren Sharon Road in Brookfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 26, 2018 at Vienna United Methodist Church at 10:30 am with Rev. Mary Prior officiating. Burial will follow at Vienna Township Cemetery.
