Howland – The Lord took home Charles H. Wilmouth, 82, on April 7, 2024.
He was born on April 3, 1942 in Williamsfield, OH at home. Chuck came from a large family, 11 brothers and sisters and they all lived on the family farm in Kinsman. His dad had a garage where he taught all the boys how to fix, paint, and restore cars. There was no car or motorcycle Chuck couldn’t fix or restore. He loved it. In fact after marrying Debby, their large driveway was always filled with vehicles that Chuck was fixing or selling.
Chuck married the love of his life, Deborah Johnson on June 7, 1997 and they had almost 27 wonderful years together.
Chuck served in the Marine Corps from March 21, 1961 to January 9, 1967. He was a Sargent E-5 where he received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Expert Badge, and Pistol Expert Badge. He was also in the Ohio Army National Guard from March 8, 1967 till March 1, 1969. He was a patriot and loved his country and was proud to serve.
There was no one he didn’t make a friend of, there was so many people he met at Dunkin that became good friends. He also was a man of God and spread the gospel wherever he had the opportunity.
Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; Father, Grant; brothers, Clinton, Willard, and Bob; and sister Neva.
He is survived by his wife, Debby; daughters, Kimberly (Stan) O’Day oh Kent, OH, Kelly (Richard) Battoglia of Rochester, NY, Kristin (Brian) Norman of Port Orange, FL; son, Major Kyle (Cyndie) Wilmouth of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Amanda, Richard Charles, Jessica, Chloe and Harper Finley; great-granddaughter, Ava; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings, brothers, Grant Jr., Ronnie, and Raymond; and sisters, Wanda Cutlip, Vivian Schrecengost, Linda Newman, and Susie Cassity.
I want to thank the nurses, aids, and Hospice at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland for the loving care and kindness they showed to Chuck and myself.
