Cheryl L. Hubler

Cheryl L. Hubler, 48 of Youngstown passed away Wednesday Jan.31, 2007 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born June 10, 1958 in Youngstown the daughter of Charles F. Hubler and Mary Kay (Thompson) Orlando. A lifetime area resident, Cheryl was a 1976 graduate of Girard High School. She attended Youngstown State University and served in the United States Navy from 1985 -1989 attaining the rank of Seaman, Yeoman Striker. She was stationed on the USS Hunley and received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 2 bronze stars and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. She was formerly employed at Austin Woods Nursing Home, Omni Manor, and most recently as a nurse’s assistant at Carrington South Health Care Center. She is a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church of Youngstown. Cheryl loved plant and flower gardening, spending weekends at Geneva on the Lake and she was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. She is survived by her parents Charles F. Hubler of Girard, Mary Kay (Louis) Orlando of Diamond, OH, a daughter Jamie Lynn Hubler of Youngstown, 3 brothers Timothy (Melissa) Hubler of W. Farmington, OH, Lynden Hubler and Kevin (Barbara) Hubler of Warren, half brother Darrell (Karen) Orlando of Girard and half sister Melissa Freed of Youngstown. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and will be missed by many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents William and Viola Hubler and maternal grandparents Jim and Stella Thompson. A funeral service will be 7:00PM Monday Feb.5, 2007 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received from 5:00-7:00. Rev. Joyce L. J. Lawson will officiate. Cremation will follow.
