Cheryl Leslie Palmer

Cheryl Leslie Palmer, 73 of Niles, died Wednesday morning, October 31, 2018, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. She was born February 8, 1945 in Warren, the daughter of the late William J. and Dorothy Mae Hayes Murray. Cheryl was a 1964 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. She studied practical nursing in California and graduated from the Choffin School of Practical Nursing in Youngstown. She retired after working for several years as an LPN and also as a nurses aide. Cheryl was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Susan L. Lapierre of Warren and Leslie D. Palmer of Niles; two sons, Richard (Kim) Lapierre of Warren and William "Bill" (Nioka Ann) Lapierre of Niles; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one brother, Ronald Murray of Florida. One daughter, Sharon "Sherry" Lapierre and one brother, Dennis Murray both have preceded her in death. A private memorial service will be held Thursday morning, November 8, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Niles Chapel on Robbins Avenue. Pastor Calvin Mason will officiate. Cremation was held and burial will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, California, next to her infant daughter, Sherry.
