Chester Kijowski, age 75 of McDonald, Ohio, died on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his home. He was born in McDonald on August 26, 1939, the son of the late Michael Albert and Violet Stella Borawski Kijowski. Chester was a 1957 graduate of McDonald High School. He was an honorably discharged US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Kijowski was a die corrector for Astro Shapes in Struthers for approximately 20 years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and going on daily walks with his Siberian Husky, Nancy, his companion. He was a member of the American Legion Post 235 in Girard and he was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans. Survivors include his children, Dana (Sean) Sweeney of Glenolden, PA, and Chet-Michael (Elizabeth) Kijowski of Poland; three grandsons; four brothers, Michael E. (Frances) Kijowski of Westerville, Albert P. (Shirley) Kijowski of Niles, Arthur J. Kijowski of Warren, and James A. (Christine) Kijowski of Girard. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church, 48 East Main Street in Girard, at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2014 where Monsignor John Zuraw and Deacon Paul Milligan will celebrate Chester's life. Family and friends may gather at the church one hour prior to the Mass.
