Christ H. "Hank" Melonio

Christ Henry Melonio, 84, of Austintown, passed away unexpectedly late Saturday evening, November 9th at his residence.

"Hank" as he was affectionately known, was born November 5, 1940 in Hillsville, PA, a son of Andrew and Mary (Yargo) Melonio.

He was a graduate of Bessemer High School and went on to achieve a bachelor of business administration degree from Youngstown State University. He worked as owner and President of Custom Etch Inc. in New Castle, a company he founded in 1980.

Hank married the former Deborah A. Jones on May 4, 1985. They shared 22 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She preceded him in death September 6, 2007.

He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Austintown. He was an avid gardener and he poured his heart and soul into his family and work. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. Hank will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Hank is survived by four children; Mary Kathryn (Michael) Cancilliere, of Barrington, RI, C. Matthew (Chloe Kiritz) Melonio, of Monterey, CA, Shannon (Marc) Presley, of Austintown, and Richard Marinelli, of Mineral Ridge. He also leaves behind a brother, Donald E. (Lorree) Melonio, of New Castle; eight grandchildren; Michael, Sophia, Andrew, Beatrice, Oscar, Macailin, Bailey, and A.J.; and his former wife, Sandra L. Melonio, of Barrington, RI.

Besides his wife, Hank was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 15th, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Austintown with the Rev. Gregory Fedor as celebrant.

Friends may call 4 - 7 PM Thursday, November 14th, at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.

He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in the Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown.
