Ciara Kay Long, 18, passed away on January 17, 2018 at Akron Childrens Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Ciara was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on January 13, 2000. Ciara was student at Brookfield High School until her health prevented her from attending classes. She was a captain on the cheerleading squad and played volleyball. Ciara loved art, and was passionate about her drawing and painting. She was creative, kind, graceful and a truly selfless soul. Visitation for Ciara will be Monday January 22, 2018 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. Ciara is survived by her mother Mandy Long; her father Willie Summerlin; her step-father LeRoy Jones; her brother Bruce Long; her sisters Christine Long and Aysha Gibson; her grandparents: Ed & Sherry Long, Cindy & Bruce Jones and Barb & Willie Summerlin; her niece Kaylynn Downs and nephew Tristan Filous as well as many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her aunt Angel Whitt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Akron Childrens Hospital Hematology-Oncology Unit.
