Corey C. Velk

Corey C. Velk, 39, of Lake Milton, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 19, 2024, at her residence.

Corey was born on January 13, 1985, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Randy and Kimberly (Connelly) Velk. A lifelong resident of the area, Corey was a 2003 honors graduate of Jackson Milton High School, where she played volleyball and earned all-state and national honors for her achievements in softball. During her high school career, she broke many records and was named Athlete of the Year in her senior year.

Corey went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University and was currently pursuing her Master’s degree through online classes.

Corey was known for her unique, genuine nature. She was quiet but possessed a sharp sense of humor and sarcasm, often leaving those around her in stitches. An artist at heart, Corey loved painting and refinishing furniture, always expressing her creativity through her hands.

 She is survived by her sister, Molly Dennison of Salem; niece, Chloe Dennison; nephew, Colton Dennison; and many extended family and friends. A Celebration of Corey’s Life will be planned for the spring.
