Daniel E. Johnson WARREN- Daniel E. Johnson, age 53, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his residence. Dan was born February 5, 1965 in Howland, where he was a life-long resident. He graduated from Howland High School in 1983. Dan enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard on September 27, 1983, He received his honorable discharge as Specialist, 324th Military Police Company on June 6, 1989. He was employed as a Corrections Officer/ Special Duty at Trumbull Correctional Institute for the last 27 years. Dan was a Christian, husband, brother, father, Pappaw, and uncle. His happiest and favorite moments were spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Howland, where he celebrated his love for His great savior, Jesus Christ. Daniel looked forward to the day he would meet Him face to face. He was known for his caring heart, contagious laugh and selfless manner. God blessed him with many great qualities, one being his talent and love of wood working. Anyone who received his one-of-a-kind "Danielsans" knew they would treasure it for years to come. Dan always said "If you cant dance on it, then I didnt make it." Words can not begin to describe how deeply missed Dan will be by his wife of 14 years, Candace Johnson, to whom he married January 1, 2005, their children, Dustin Dickerson of Streetsboro and Lindsey (Frank) Walters of Sonora, Kentucky; three older brothers, Bruce E. (Pamela) Johnson of Tennessee, Dennis L. (Teresa) Johnson of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Thomas (Lori) Johnson of Warren; his granddaughter Zariah M. Daniels and his grandson Maverick J. Walters; along with nephews, nieces, great nephews, great Nieces and many other family and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Olin P. Johnson, Jr. and his mother, Jean Johnson. Friends may call 5-7PM Thursday, January 24th at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren. Funeral Services will be 11AM Friday at First Baptist Church of Howland at 8957 E. Market St. in Warren, Interment in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Kidney for Kevin" to help defray medical expenses.
