Austintown- Funeral services will be held 11 Am Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Daniel Giovanni age 70 of 291 Inglewood Ave. who died Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Dan was born Sept. 14, 1932 in Youngstown and was the son of John and Theresa (Chiffoni) Giovanni. He had retired from General Motors in 1992 where he had been a Skilled Trade Foreman. Dan was a member of Ohltown United Methodist Church, had served in the Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Western Star Lodge #21 F&AM, Gold Wing Road Riders, Rolling Thunder, ABATE, and the Chosin Few (buddies from the Korean War). Dan is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Lowry) Giovanni whom he married July 18, 1953, a daughter Robin Craciun and a son Daniel R. Giovanni, both of Austintown, 3 sisters Libby Pandon of Niles, Edith Dietz of New Middletown, OH, Marian Grate of Youngstown, 2 brothers August Giovanni and Emanuel, both of Youngstown, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lydia Laverie, Della Moore and 3 brothers John Jr., Gabrel and Joseph Giovanni. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Wed. The family requests that material contributions take the form of donations to the Ohltown United Methodist Church. The Lodge will hodl a service 8 PM Wed. at the funeral home.
