YOUNGSTOWN---Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church for Mr. Daniel J. Uhran, 78, of 3405 Black Oak Ln., who died Saturday morning in Beeghly Emergency. Daniel was born Sept. 12, 1923 in Eckley, PA, the son of George and Mary Rose (Surgent) Uhran and came to this area as a child. He was a 1941 graduate of Chaney High School and earned an Associate Degree in Engineering from YSU. He had worked in maintenance for Volney Rodgers Jr. high School and had been a freelance engineer for several companies. Daniel had also worked for US Steel and Truscon in their engineering departments. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the Southside Amvets, the Catholic War Vets, Buckley John Post 1292, a life member of the D.A.V., the Saxon Club and the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club. Daniel was a Sergeant with the Army in WWII serving in the European Theater and received the Bronze Star along with several other medals for distinguished service. He is survived by a loving sister, Mary Ann Uhran of Austintown. Two brothers, Emil Michael and George Edward Uhran preceded him in death. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel and from Noon until 1:00 in the church.
