Darlene J. Mcknight

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Darlene McKnight, 73, of Austintown who passed away Saturday morning, February 2, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Mercy Health, main campus. Darlene was born February 22, 1945 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of John and Nell Fortney and came to the area as a young adult. She retired in 2007 as the Kitchen Supervisor at Boardman Community Health Care Center. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed reading and watching TV shows about Alaska and animals. Her husband Frank McKnight, whom she married September 22, 1962, passed away February 19, 1994. Darlene leaves one daughter, Cheryl (Bill) Wood of Austintown, three sons, Frank (Damaris) McKnight, Carnell (Amy) McKnight, and Richard (Erin) McKnight all of Phoenix, AZ, one brother, Donald Fortney of New Castle, seven grandchildren, Tara, Daniel, Kyle, Makayla, Connor, Megan, and Phoebe, as well as two great grandchildren, Morgan and Mikey. Besides her parents and husband Frank, Darlene was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Friends may call Tuesday, February 5, from 4 to 7 PM and again from 9:30 until 10 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel where services will be held at 10 AM.
