Darrell E. Skaggs, age 62, of Champion Township went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, at 5:15 pm Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his home. He was born October 15, 1945 in Summersville, West Virginia the son of the late Herbert and Ruby (Drennen) Skaggs. Darrell served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Warren Baptist Temple. He enjoyed woodworking, handyman work and traveling to West Virginia. Darrell loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Darrell is survived by his wife, Donna J. Sine Skaggs, whom he married November 20, 1969; one daughter, Lisa S. (Mike) Karenke of Champion and one son, Rodney E. (Natalie) Skaggs of Champion; five grandchildren, Kyle and Jordyn Skaggs and Hayden, Michael and Heather Karenke; one sister, Ruth (Bill) Waddell and one brother, Delmar (Lou) Skaggs both of Howland. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Two brothers, Herbert and Lloyd Dean Skaggs both preceded him in death. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday. Church services will be held at the Warren Baptist Temple at 11:00 am Friday, July 11, 2008 with Pastor Jim Dittmar officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
