CANFIELD-There will be Services at 1 p.m. Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Canfield Chapel for David M. Hall, 85, who passed away Tuesday evening at his residence. Dave was born January 20, 1933 in East Palestine, the son of Clarence and Janet Morris Hall. Dave was a Journeyman Millwright, employed by General Motors, Lordstown Complex for 32 years, retiring in 1997. He was a 1951 graduate of East Palestine High School and had attended The Ohio State University. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Dave was a two term member of the Executive Board and he was instrumental in forming the Employee Assistance Program and the Civil Rights Committee, with the U.A.W. Dave was a member of Western Star Lodge No. 21 F & A.M. where he served as master in 1984. He was also a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Youngstown, where he served as Most Wise Master of Youngstown Chapter of Rose Croix; the York Rite Bodies of Youngstown, the Aut Mori Grotto and the Ellsworth VFW- Meander Post No. 9571. Dave was an active supporter of Special Olympics. He enjoyed being a member of the U.A.W. golf, bowling and softball leagues. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed golfing and bowling. Daves greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and gr. grandchildren. Dave is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Dorothy M. Hussar whom he married Feb. 14, 1956; his children, Kimberly Fink of Salem, Kathy (Stephen) Kelecava of Salem, Michelle Hall of Bluffton, IN, David Micheal (Chondra) Hall of NC, Leslie (Anthony) Hudock of Canfield and Christopher (Laura) Hall of Youngtown; his sister, Eunice Hall Bruggemann of Centerville, OH; 18 grandchildren and 23 gr. grandchildren. Besides his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Terry Fink and his brother-in-law, George Bruggemann. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Albani, Jr. and Southern Care Hospice Services, including A.J., Jen, Kristen, Katie, Chaplain Elly and caregiver Darlene Double from Valley Care (V.A.) for their exceptional and compassionate care and concern for Dave. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday prior to the Service, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Daves name may be given to the Mahoning County DD Special Olympics at, Treasure Mahoning County DD Special Olympics, 5132 South Turner Rd. Canfield, OH 44406 or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
