Deborah Hoefler-Soccorsy, 53, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Cleveland Clinic after a prolonged illness. Born May 29, 1964, in Youngstown, Ohio; she was a daughter of Norman and Jeanne Hoefler of North Jackson. She attended the Jackson-Milton School District, graduating with honors in 1982; she went on to attend Mount Union College and graduated cum laude with degrees in Communications and Psychology in 1986. She pursued a career as a Director for Multiple Sclerosis chapters in both Virginia Beach, VA, and Pensacola, FLA, before moving to Irvine, California, where she was employed as an executive secretary in banking. After returning to the Youngstown area, Debbie married William Soccorsy and together they started a trucking company and raised their son. Debbie will be missed by the light of her life, her son, William Anthony Soccorsy, as well as by her parents, Norman and Jeanne Hoefler, a brother, Jeff (Joyce) Hoefler of Berlin Center, a sister, Cheryl (Clay) Leonard and their children, Curt and Claire Leonard of Pittsburgh, PA, and her former spouse, William Soccorsy. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Betty Smith who were formerly of North Jackson, Ohio. Private services were held for the family.
