Delbert Leroy Pursel, age 80 of Niles, Ohio died unexpectedly Monday, March 26, 2018, at his home in Niles. He was born June 20, 1937 in Bloomsburg, Columbia county, Pennsylvania the son of the late Elmer and Mildred Wolfe Pursel. Delbert worked for many years on the railroad and later as a construction contractor, before retiring. He was a talented woodworker and finish carpenter, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed customizing antique cars into hot rods and working on cars. He is survived by five daughters, Myrtle "Micki" Pursel, Yvonne "Dee" (Rodney Lee Diehl) Pursel-Diehl, Mildred A. "Milli" (Gary) Traver and Nancy (Russell) Davis all of Berwick, Pa. and Annette "Sis" Pickett of Hobbie, Pa.; several grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Utt-Stackhouse of Berwick and Mildred "Dolly" Moyer of Virginia and one brother, Jerry (Judy) Pursel of Berwick. One son, Delbert L. Pursel Jr. died in infancy and three brothers, Elmer "Mike", Floyd and Gary Pursel and one sister, Florence Markle also have preceded him in death. Cremation was held and there will be a memorial service scheduled for a later date in Berwick, with burial to be in Elan Memorial Park in Lime Ridge, Pa. Local arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, Ohio.
