Warren- Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday for Dempsey J. Wagoner for the family of Helen Wagoner and her children and 1 PM Friday for Suzanne and Charles’s family at the Lane Funeral Home-Mineral Ridge Chapel. Dempsey passed away early Tuesday morning at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was 83 and lived at 1160 Deforest Rd. Dempsey was born July 11, 1922 in Olive Hill, KY and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Wagoner. He retired in 1985 from U.S. Steel in McDonald where he had been a coil operator. Dempsey had served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII and was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed playing cards, family outings, watching boxing and rebuilding bicycles. He was very family orientated and enjoyed his dog Queenie. Dempsey is survived by his second wife, the former Helen Williams whom he married July 6, 1991. His first wife Mary Lou Wagoner whom he married in 1946 died in 1990. He also leaves a daughter Suzanne (Raymond) Hornyak of Warren, a son Charles Wagoner of Niles, five step children, Sue Greenhill of Youngstown, Diane Settle of Warren, Theresa Lesko of Youngstown, Jason and Benny Greenhill both of Warren. Dempsey leaves seven grandchildren, Warren, Kimberly, Stacey, Mark, Raymond, Melissa, Dawn Marie and 19 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 5 great step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Suzanne and Charles family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 PM on Thursday and Helen and her family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday and from 12-1 PM prior to services on Friday. The family requests that material contributions be made the American Diabetes Assoc.
