Dennis George Welton

Funeral services celebrating the life of Dennis George Welton, 76, will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 15, at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel. Dennis passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Beeghly Oaks Care Center. He was born December 25, 1942 in Youngstown the son of George and Edna (Meyers) Welton and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1961 graduate of Western Reserve High School and retired in 2000 from Ports Petroleum where he was a supervisor. His hobbies included coin collecting and horse racing. Dennis leaves his wife the former Phyllis DeZee, whom he married August 10, 1963. He also leaves two sons, Mark (Kelli) Welton and Doug (Sarah Hall) Welton both of Boardman, four grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Matthew, and Maxwell, one sister, Donna Lester of Salem, and three brothers, Larry (Tina) Welton of Salem, David Welton of Arizona, and Rick (Teresa) Welton of North Jackson. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Thursday and again Friday from 10:30 to 11 AM at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel where services will begin at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Dennis name.
