Denzil Lee Snyder, age 70, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Community Skilled Nursing in Warren. Denzil was born January 13, 1947 in Union City, Indiana to the late Lloyd G. and Marjorie (Woods) Snyder. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Vietnam. Denzil worked for many years at McDonald Steel, at RMI, and retired from RTI Titanium as a crane operator with 29 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Denzil also loved to cook. He loved working with his Haflinger horses and had fond memories of operating his fishing charter boat on Lake Erie. Besides his parents, Denzil is preceded in death by his brother Larry. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Melanie Snyder, two daughters Leslie (Greg) Davis and Tammy McCollough; a step-son Robert Gilbert, a sister Dixie Darby, three granddaughters Celena McCollough, Alyssa McCollough and Gabrielle Gilbert, one grandson Zeke Davis. Friends may call 6-8PM Thursday, October 19th at Lane Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St. in Cortland. Funeral service with Military Honors will be 9:30AM Friday in the Chapel at Pineview Memorial Park.
