Fowler - It is with heavy hearts of sorrow and yet full of joy that the family announces Dexter A. Peterson, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8. His faith was unwavering in his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, admired by his friends and neighbors.
Dexter was born January 12, 1941, in Greenville, PA, the son of Joseph A. Peterson and Esee B. Peterson.
He worked in construction for many years, building homes in Northeast Ohio and Western PA, including three family homes. He also worked as a welder before retiring in 2010.
Dexter was a devoted sports fan and enjoyed watching boxing, wrestling, the Cleveland Indians, and NASCAR, always rooting for his favorite driver, Ryan Blaney. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting, and working outdoors, around the house and in the garden.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Peterson, five children, Valerie, Deborah (Gregg) Alberini, Bonnie (Eddie) Waggoner, Joseph, and Susan (Dave) Homan, and seven grandchildren, Tiffany Alberini, Breanna Bronson, Brian Bronson, Reese Waggoner, Gabrielle Peterson, John Homan, and Nate (Staci) Homan. He will also be missed by his sisters Jane Fratilla and Jennie (Baird) Gibson.
In accordance with his wishes, a private service will be held.
Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
