Dolores I. Loftus, 93 of Orwell, formerly of Bristolville died on Wednesday evening, March 27, 2019, at her daughter's home in Orwell. She was born December 19, 1925 in Farmington, West Virginia the daughter of the late A.W. and Bernice Rice Talkington. Dolores was a graduate of the Farmington area high school in West Virginia. She worked diligently as a homemaker all of her married life, raising five children. She and her husband, John, had a wonderful life, even living in Kodiac, Alaska until he became ill. Dolores had been a longtime member of St. William Catholic Church in Champion. She enjoyed gardening and canning, crocheting, quilting and traveling and loved children. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren She is survived by two daughters, Melinda C. (Michael) Brown with whom she was making her home in Orwell and Marilyn S. (Ray) DeRamo of Bristolville; three sons, John Russell (Gwen) Loftus Jr. of Deaver, Wyoming, Daniel K. (Mary) Loftus of Devils Tower, Wyo. and Wayne Loftus of Bristolville; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one brother, Bill (Esther) Talkington of Bazetta. Her husband of 22 years, John Russell Loftus, whom she married May 10, 1947 at St. Mary's Church in Warren, preceded her in death in 1969. Two brothers, Wayne "June" Talkington Jr. and Bob Talkington have also preceded in death. The funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. service. Rev. Michael Balash will officiate. Burial will be at Orwell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame, 13000 Auburn Rd., Chardon,OH 44024.
