Donabelle I. Donahue

AUSTINTOWN---Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Mrs., Donabelle I Donahue, 97, who passed away Sunday morning in Glenview Manor Care Center. Donabelle was born April 13, 1905 in Ohltown, OH, the daughter of Norman and Eva Dunlap Smith. She had been employed as a secretary for Lloyd Packing Co., and had previously worked as a secretary for both Bostwick Insurance Co. and Republic Steel Corp. Donabelle was the oldest living member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ and a member of the Faithful Women’s Sunday School Class and the church Choir. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening and was a member of the Austintown Community Church Quilters and the Mineral Ridge Garden Club. She was a graduate of Niles High School. Her husband, Russell Donahue, whom she married Sept. 21, 1929, died May 1, 1969. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Schwers of Austintown and Marilyn Wheaton of Phoenix, AZ, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A brother, Norman Glenn Smith preceded her in death. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, 3911 Main St., Mineral Ridge, OH 44440 Friends may call from 7-9 PM Thursday and 10 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
