Donald E. Barry

Donald “Don” Barry, 88, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, in hospice care at Maplewood Senior Living at Cuyahoga Falls. Don was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Patrick and Mary Barry. A 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School,

 Don resided in Austintown and Youngstown nearly all his life. He married Joann Seidner in 1962 and they had one daughter, Michele (Jim).He was preceded in death by his wife Joann, who passed away in 2015. In 2016, Don met Helen Holmes, and they spent several joyful years together until her death in 2020. He was also preceded in death by his three siblings, Dolores McFarland, Richard, and Jim Barry.

In addition to his daughter, he leaves behind three grandchildren, Laura, Jackie and Matt (Sarah) and one great grandchild, Cole.

Don thrived on going to the YMCA in Boardman regularly and reading for the blind through Goodwill Industries for nearly 40 years. He was an artist and a musician and enjoyed attending local community concerts.

A Service of Christian Burial will take place in the Chapel at Lake Park Cemetery on Tuesday, April 23, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davis Family YMCA Wellness Program, 45 McClurg Rd.,

Youngstown, OH 44512.
