Donald R. Streb, 77, of Canfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3rd, after a short battle with glioblastoma, surrounded by his family.
Donald was born February 26, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio and was the son of the late LaVerne and Ann (Dobran) Streb.
Donald was a 1964 graduate of Ursuline High School. He was a teacher for 33 years, beginning at South High School. He moved to Choffin Career Center and ended his career at Gordon D. James Career Center Lordstown. He also owned and operated Streb Painting.
Donald was proud of his roots and was a member of the Ursuline Reunion Committee and the Smokey Hollow Group. He enjoyed bocce and socializing at the MVR in his old stomping ground.
Donald loved sharing stories, spending time with his family and making people laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Ralph Streb, William Streb; his brother-in-law Phil Parks; and his sisters-in-law Pat Streb, Joyce Streb and Sue Streb.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other, Gerry Wuyek; his children Jennifer (James) Murphy, Donald Streb, Matthew Streb, and Sarah (Joshua) Allen; his grandchildren Benjamin Streb, Bradley Streb, Toby Streb, and Lily Streb; and his siblings Robert Streb, Betty Parks, David Streb, and Patty (Jim) Corvino. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many life-long friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 17th, at 10:00 am, at St. Michael’s Church in Canfield with a luncheon to follow. Donald will be interred at St. John’s Cemetery.
