Donna Poschner

Boardman- Donna Poschner, age 81, passed away at St Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, Ohio on Friday, July 5th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

 Born April 15th, 1943 in Liberty Township, Ohio to the late Donald Wentz and Natalie Wilson. Donna was married to George Poschner in 1963 and later divorced in 1981. A longtime Ohio resident, she resided in Youngstown, Liberty, Girard and Austintown.

 She attended Liberty Schools and upon graduation she earned her cosmetology license from Rapheal’s School of Beauty in Niles. She worked as a hairdresser at Hair Designs and Park Vista as well as a secretary for Homes for Kids before setting aside her career in order to take care of her grandchildren.

Donna was a dedicated and active member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Youngstown for 61 years. Always the social butterfly she enjoyed outings with friends and was never to be underestimated during a game of Bingo. Her children remember her love for dancing and the passion for reading she made a priority to pass onto both them and her grandchildren. Family photos decorated any home of hers, alongside her extensive collection of skunks. 

 She is survived by 3 daughters and 3 sons, Natalie, George, Kathryn (Tim), John (Audra), Walter and Elizabeth (Saul); seven grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Donna cherished her time with family, and would always comment on how much she enjoyed seeing them. She was always happy to share a meal with her loved ones with lobster frequently topping her requests. 

Family and friends may attend the wake on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Dr, Youngstown, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeremy Hollingshead officiating.
