Donnah L. Waechter, 92, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Ohio Living Lake Vista. Donnah was born on May 5, 1926, in Warren to Anthony and Gertrude McAdoo Lenhart. She was a 1944 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Donnah worked at both Trumbull Lamp and Packard Electric before turning to bookkeeping. She worked as the bookkeeper for Childrens Medical Group in Warren and later retired from the financial offices at RMI Titanium in Niles. In May of 1977, Donnah was united in marriage with Bernard Waechter who preceded her in death on May 8, 2005. Throughout her life Donnah was a talented crafter. She had an eye for detail which allowed her to excel at needle work including very intricate counted cross-stitch pictures, all kinds of embroidery, needlepoint, sewing, knitting and tatting. Her creative spirit also led her to paint beautiful ceramic pieces which she often fired in her own kiln. She dabbled in pencil drawing, china painting, tole painting, quilling and both reed and pine needle basketry. She gave many creations to friends and family; if you said you liked it, shed say, "take it." Donnah also made her own greeting cards, many of which featured her own drawings and hand-written messages done in a beautiful script. Most recently she had become proficient in creating cards on her computer, and she never missed a birthday or special occasion. Playing cards was another of her passions, and she especially enjoyed poker, pinochle and cribbage. In her younger days, Donnah enjoyed playing sports. She bowled in leagues, golfed and played tennis. Donnah also knew her way around a kitchen. She was an excellent cook trying out new recipes and compiling favorites into her collection of cookbooks. She also was an accomplished baker, and she was known around Lake Vista for sharing her delicious chocolate chip cookies with everyone. Most importantly Donnah was a loving mother, grandparent, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and will now be reunited in heaven with her cherished dog, Toto. Donnah is survived by her daughter, Linda (Carl) Mackey Stude of North Hollywood, Calif.; her stepchildren: Julie (David) Waechter Behner of Canton, Michael (Marie) Waechter of Hermitage, Pa., Robin (Barry Smith) Reedy of Gardnerville, Nev., Randy (Jeannie) Reedy of Poteau, Okla., and Rick Reedy of Barstow, Calif.; her stepgrandchildren, Anne (Shelby) Behner Coke of Greenacres, Fla., and Scott Behner of Northwood, N.H.; her stepgreat-grandchildren Louisa and Chet Behner of Northwood, N.H.; her sisters, Glenna Robison of Champion and Carol Tarleton of Cortland, and her brother, Wayne (Lois) Lenhart of Champion. Besides her husband, Donnah was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, Don Lee and William Lenhart. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Donnahs life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Road, Bldg E, Ste. 201, Canfield, OH 44406 or Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, 12 Youngstown Kingsville Road SE, Vienna, OH 44473.
