Dorothy Bell Glazzy

Dorothy Bell (Bittner) Glazzy, 76, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Akron City Hospital. She was born on October 13, 1939 in Littleton, CO. Dorothy grew up in Benicia, CA where she graduated from Benicia High School. In March of 1957, Dorothy married Stephen F. Glazzy. They moved the following year to Austintown to raise their family. Dorothy also worked in personnel for Kmart for many years before her retirement. Dorothy will be remembered as an avid Bingo player. She also loved nature and watching birds. Her love of nature could also be found in the years she spent as a Girl Scout leader and in the enjoyment she found camping. She also loved her home, friends, and neighbors, but most of all, she loved her family. Dorothy and her husband traveled all over the country to spend time with their children and grandchildren. Left to carry on Dorothy's memory is her loving husband of 58 years, Stephen F. Glazzy, and her daughters, Shariann (Michael) Kello of Louisville, KY, Jeannine Jones of Stow, OH, Deborah Zanni of Chillicothe, OH, and Sheila (Tim) Miller of Phoenix, AZ. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Brian (Christie) Kello, Michelle (Khari) Marshall, Jennifer Kello, Nicholas (Christa) Jones, Christopher (Sarah) Jones, Kaylie Jones, Eric Zanni, Ian Zanni, Angela Zanni, and Ryon Smith; her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Emma, Greyson, and Maci; her sister, Sheila Lambott; and her brothers, Dennis (Kathy) Adams, and Ken (Carol) Adams. Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Ellen (Gentry) Kelsey, and her brother, Paul Bittner. The family will receive friends from 5PM-8PM on Saturday, October 24 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. A funeral service will be held 2PM on Sunday, October 25, at Four Mile Run Christian Church, 701 N. Four Mile Run Rd. Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron City Hospital, 3 East Acute Palliative Care Unit, 525 E.
