Dorothy H. Berdin

Rio Rancho, New Mexico - Dorothy H. Berdin, 76, formerly of Canfield, died Tuesday, July 16th at her residence following an extended illness. 

She was born February 27, 1948 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late William H. and Willis (Shaffer) Bode.

Dorothy was a 1966 graduate of Canfield High School and went on to achieve a nursing degree from the Choffin Career and Technical Center in Youngstown. She worked as a nurse at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for a time before relocating to Dayton with her family where she worked as a preschool teacher. She and her family then settled in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where she continued working as a teacher. 

She is survived by her husband, Samuel A. Berdin; two children, Tina Volzer and Sean Berdin, both of Albuquerque; two grandchildren; and two sisters.

Private services were held in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Boardman.

Arrangements for Mrs. Berdin were provided by the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.
