Dorothy L. Kirila

Dorothy "Dot" L. Kirila of Brookfield passed away Friday evening, August 26, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She was seventy-years old. Dot was born January 8, 1941, in Greensburg, PA, to William J. and Hildur M. (Larson) Reese. She was a 1959 graduate of Sharon High School and would marry her husband Ronald J. Kirila on October 2, 1965. Together they would share more than forty-five years of marriage and their two sons Ron and Paul. Mrs. Kirila was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, flower gardening, had a great love for animals, but above all she especially loved spending time being a mother and grandmother to her family. She will be sadly missed by her husband Ron Kirila Sr. of Brookfield, OH; sons Ronald J. Kirila Jr. and his wife Theresa and Paul D. Kirila and his wife Kristin all of Hartford, OH; her brother William E. Reese and his wife Jody of Tacoma, WA; and by her seven grandchildren Ronald III, Ashley, Autumn, Andrew, Kaiden, Preslie, and Kinlie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Carl Kirila, and her sister Joan Kramer. Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 28, 2011 from 5:00PM-8:00 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, OH 44403. Closing prayers will begin at 10:15 AM on Monday August 29, 2011 at the funeral home immediately to be followed by the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00AM at St. Bernadette Church 7808 Locust Street in Masury, Ohio 44438 with the Rev. Frank Zanni as Celebrant. Burial will be held privately at the Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
