Dorothy M. Arne

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown for Dorothy M. Arne of 34 S, Wickliffe Circle who passed away Monday morning at North Side Hospital. She was born September 21, 1922 in Austintown a daughter of William and Grace (Sharp) Wagner. She was a member of Austintown Community Church, former President of Wickliffe Garden Club and Woodside PTA, a volunteer for Fellow’s Riverside Gardens, a member of the Gaytimers Social Club. She enjoyed her family and playing the organ. She is survived by her husband Thomas W. Arne whom she married April 11, 1942, two daughters Diane E. Schermer and Donna J. (Allen) Alesi of Salem; four grandchildren: Melissa (Robert) Eckenrode, Alan (Kathleen) Bartlett, Laura (Casey) Smith, & Steven (Stacey) Schermer; and one great granddaughter Sara Eckenrode. She is preceded in death by two brothers Woodrow and Stewart Wagner, former Austintown schools superintendent, and seven sisters; Alma McGowan, Lillian Wagner, Emeline Kennedy, Mabel Chestnut, Leticia Donegan Luella Wagner, and her twin Dorris Swartz. Friends may call at Lane Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel from 5-8 PM Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the church.
