Dorothy Ann Zitello, 87, of Austintown, passed away peacefully on February 13th, 2024 at Humility House. She was born on May 21st, 1936 in Niles, Ohio to the late Michael and Eva (Oleksiak) Peltz. Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Niles McKinely High School and went on to marry her husband, Frank Zitello, on July 28th, 1956. They spent 55+ years building a life together and raising 2 beautiful children until his passing on March 21st, 2013. Dorothy worked for Packard Electric for 20 years as a wire harnesser, before retiring in 1974 to become a homemaker.
Dorothy had many hobbies and interests, such as a love for bingo, trips to the casino, some of them unknown to her children but very known to her grandchild Tommy, and loved jewelry because she “liked to sparkle.” Dorothy also had an immense love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending as much time with them as she could.
Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her 2 children; Karen Ruby and Michael F. Zitello; a sister, Patty (George) Finelli; 2 grandchildren; Thomas and Kelli (Justin); and 2 great grandchildren; Madison and Damien. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings; Mary Dikun, Delores Steinbeiser and a brother, Steve Peltz, as well as a grandchild; James Michael Ruby.
Family and friends may call on Monday February 19th from 5pm to 7pm at Lane Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 North Canfield-Niles Road, Mineral Ridge 44440 with a 10am Mass on February 20th at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 3504 S Main Street, Mineral Ridge with a procession to follow to her final resting place, Resurrection Cemetery.
