Warren- Duane Charles Heflin, age 71, passed away Monday morning at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Duane was born November 29, 1946 in Ashtabula, Ohio to the late Robert C. and Margaret J. (Raymer) Heflin. He was a 1964 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Duane proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served during Vietnam as a Corporal in the 2nd Battalion 4th Marines where he received the Bronze Star with V designation. He retired from WCI Steel in Warren after 43 years of service, Duane was the youngest superintendent hired at Republic, he was responsible for the 56" Hot Mill in Warren. Duane loved golfing and was an avid fly fisherman. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and Lifetime member of the VFW. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Bruce Heflin. Duane will be sadly missed by his wife and soulmate Barbara; his children, Adrienne Heflin, Edward (Joanna) Dray, and Kristine Dray Stidd; his half-brother Bill (Jean) Lewis; five grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, David, Alina, and Logan; and nieces and nephews. He was blessed with and loved by many friends. Friends may call 10AM-1PM Thursday, June 28th at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren, where Pastors John Talkington and Joel Dickson will celebrate Duanes life starting at 1PM followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to help facilitate his wishes.
