CORTLAND- Earl G. Monroe, age 87, passed away October 22, 2018 at the Hospice House in Poland. Earl was born March 3, 1931 in Warren to the late George D. and Nellie Clark Monroe. Earl married the former Eileen W. Rudkin on October 6, 1956 at St. Marys Church in Warren. He was employed at Allied Metals and then Parker Hanifin for 34 years as a crane operator. He is survived by his wife Eileen, his daughter Lisa (Robert) Yund of Medina, his son Mark (Renee) Monroe of Greenville, SC. five grandchildren, Megan (Buddy) Wolf of Wadsworth, Sean Moran of Akron, Kevin Moran of Manhattan, NY, Jordan Frost and Mason Monroe of Greenville, SC. Three step-grandchildren, Kristi Stovall of Florida, Patricia Johnston of Florida and Mary Yund of Akron; two great-granddaughters Eliana Wolf and Avery Wolf, and four step-great grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters, Grace Crytzer, Rachel (Ed) Consla, and Nancy (Bob) Spatholt. Besides his parents, Earl is preceded in death by his brothers William, Danny, and Paul; and sister Marion Monroe. Friends may call 10-11AM Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Lane Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High Street in Cortland, where Rev. Fr. Carl Kish will celebrate Earls life at 11AM. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery.
