Edith C. Smith

Las Cruces, NM- There will be a memorial service at 5PM Friday, May 27, 2005 at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, with the Rev. John R. Selders officiating for Edith C. Smith, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday morning, May 18, 2005, at LaPasada Hospice in Las Cruces, NM. Edith was born July 3, 1908 in Youngstown a daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Palmer Holt. Edith enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She leaves four children Florence Williams of Albequerque, NM, Francis Smith of Girard, Earl Smith of Austintown, Helen Baucher of Lancaster, and an adopted son Joseph Smith; and many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur H. Smith to whom she was married to for over 50 years; two sons William and Harry Smith, a sister Elizabeth Holt, and four brothers Samuel, James, Arthur, Phillip Holt. Friends may call at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel from 4 until 5 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E. Montana, Las Cruces, NM 88005, or a charity of the donor’s choice in Edith’s name.
