Edith Lucille Hoffman

Edith Lucille Khoenle Hoffman, 88, of Howland, OH, passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 23, 2019 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. Edith was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Kenneth A. Hoffman Jr., parents Wilson and Lucille Khoenle and siblings Virginia Khoenle Williams, Irene Khoenle Driggers, David Khoenle and Fredrick Khoenle. Edith was born in Warren, OH. June 12, 1930. Edith graduated from Champion High School in 1948 and was employed with Ohio Edison as an account specialist. Edith was also a co-owner of Northwood Golf Club in Champion, OH., with her husband Ken opening the course in 1965 with the late John Calderone. She played a vital role in the day to day operations for over 40 years and her passion for the business was instrumental in the overall success of the golf course. Edith was an active member of St. James Church in Warren, OH and was involved in volunteering with many local charities including being a long term member of the Ohio Child Conservation League (CCL) of Northeast Ohio. She always enjoyed helping and bringing happiness to others who were not as fortunate. Edith was very active throughout her life enjoying traveling and playing golf with her husband Ken, and spending time with her 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She loved playing games including card games with her local friends and spending time with her lifetime high school friends on a regular basis. Edith was known for her endless generosity, infectious sense of humor and giggle, her attention to detail and the ability to bake and enjoy breads and desserts. She is survived by two daughters, Debra Hoffman (Willis) Gray of Pepperell, Ma., Cathy Hoffman Steele of Bristol, Va. , sons Dr. Kenneth D. Hoffman (Brittain) of Tinmath, Co. , and Ted M. (Michelle) Hoffman of Howland, OH. Edith is also survived by seven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and sister in law Carol (Adrian) Hovanic of Champion, OH., as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Other survivors include her siblings James Khoenle of Eustis, Fla., William Khoenle of St. Cloud, Fla., Marilyn Gehring of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Ruth Conley of Port Orange, Fla., and Janet Laughter, of Orange City, Fla. Family and friends may call from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday March 29, 2019 at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. Warren, OH 44483, followed by the Funeral Liturgy and celebration of life at 10:00am on Saturday March 30, 2019 in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be at the All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, OH following the ceremony. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home.
