Edward M. Kassan, 84 of Lordstown, died Saturday morning, February 3, 2018, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren. He was born October 14, 1933 in Warren, the son of the late Michael and Helen M. Slamcik Kassan Jr. He has been a lifetime Trumbull County resident. Ed attended Warren G. Harding High School. He worked as a millwright at Republic Steel-LTV and WCI Steel Corp. for 55 years, retiring in 2002. Ed loved traveling extensively with his wife, Gloria. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and had fished in Canada for many years. He had an excellent work ethic and was a hard and dedicated worker. Ed is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria M. Williamson Kassan, whom he married January 14, 1972; one sister, Bette (Joseph) Gonda of Boardman; three nieces, Sherrie (Dave) Duncan, Linda (Tom) Arnaut and Kimberly (Brian) Massucci and several great nieces and nephews. His stepson, Greg L. Stack preceded him in death on February 11, 2005. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, with Pastor William D. Leitch officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service time on Wednesday. Entombment will be at Crown Hill Burial Park mausoleum in Vienna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Lordstown Lutheran Church, 5615 Palmyra Road, Lordstown, OH 44481.
