AUSTINTOWN- Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Eleanor R. Weldele age 87 of Austintown who died Sun. eve. at Humility House in Austintown. Eleanor was born March 14, 1915 in Princeton, IN and was the daughter of John Wesley and Eva Alice (Williams) Ritchie. She retired in 1980 as chairwoman of the Home Economics Dept. at Austintown Fitch High School and had previously been a teacher of Home Economics at Poland Seminary High School for 6 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Episcopal Church Women, member of Austintown Kiwana Queens and was an avid artist and enjoyed painting. Eleanor had also taught tailoring at Austintown Fitch High School and was a talented seamstress. She was an Indiana State University graduate where she received her degree in Home Economics and was homecoming queen. Eleanor is survived by her husband Frank J. Weldele whom she married June 3, 1941, a son Dr. Frank J. (Mary Beth) Weldele of Austintown, a daughter Karen (Jerry) Calengor of Ft. Wayne, IN, 5 grandchildren, Anne K. Irwin of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kate E. Calengor of Edminton Alberta, Canada, David J. Weldele of Austintown, Eric D. Weldele of Columbus, OH and Phillip M. Weldele of Athens, OH. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Thursday. The family requests that material contributions take the form of donations to the Humility House.
