Ellen R. Ketterheinrich, 86, of Berlin Center, died surrounded by her family Thursday afternoon, July 25th at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born May 21, 1938 in Sidney, OH, the daughter of the late Thurman and Esther (Ware) Platfoot.
Ellen was a 1956 graduate of Sidney High School and went on to achieve a degree in nursing. She worked for several employers, most recently for Allergy Associates of Youngstown for 30 years, retiring in 2012.

They shared 62 years of marriage and many happy memories together, including the many hours working by Duke's side at Dutch Harbor Marina. He survives her.
Ellen enjoyed golfing, sewing, and playing cards. Her greatest joy was her family, especially playing games and spending time with her beloved grandchildren, to whom she was always the Queen. She was also a member of the Berlin Center United Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, Ellen is survived by her two daughters; LuAnn (Kenneth) Kimker, of Waltham, MA and Jennifer (Christopher) Kirk, of North Benton.
