Filomena E. “Florence” Zaremba of 7364 Warren-Sharon Rd., Brookfield, Ohio, died on Thursday (4-26-2007) at home following an extended illness. She was 83. Mrs. Zaremba was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on October 3, 1923, a daughter of Vasil “Mike” and Mary (Sirb) Radu. A 1942 graduate from Brookfield High School, Florence retired from Mrs. Fitzgerald’s Pre-School where she had worked as a Teacher. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury, Ohio; Ladies Auxiliary of the Brookfield Fire Department; and various card clubs in the area. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and bowling. Survivors include: her sons, Thomas J. Zaremba, with whom she lived, and James E. Zaremba & his wife Diane, Hermitage, PA; her grandchildren, Robert Zaremba, Thomas J. Zaremba, Jr. & his wife Amanda, and Christina Zaremba; and her great-grandchildren, Lydell Jordan, DeVaun Jordan, and Layla Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Edward W. Zaremba, whom she married April 29, 1944, he died July 6, 1997; by her brothers, Amil, Yaggy, Tran, Charles & John Radu; and by her sisters, Aurelia Lienberger and Marie Carl. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Dennis Bewley, Pastor at Brookfield United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Valley.
