Florence Emma King

CORTLAND: After a courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma and Alzheimers, Florence (Flo) Fowler King, departed this world peacefully in the care of Hospice and surrounded by family on November 11, 2018. She will be deeply missed and will live on in the hearts and memories of her beloved daughters, Nancy, Susan, Kelly and Amy, her son-in-laws Tony, Brad and Steve, and seven grandchildren, Stefanie, Raschelle, Howie, Cora, Noah, Morgan and Jonathan, and her three great grandchildren, Luke, Aria and Sylas and her many, many lifelong friends. Flo was born on August 31, 1933, in Hartford, Ohio and graduated from Hartford High School in 1951. After graduation she attended Business School and worked first as a receptionist at Ivor J Lees Plumbing Store and then as a typist at Westinghouse Electric Co. While she enjoyed being a secretary, her true passion was motherhood, and after her first born she devoted her life to her family. World traveler, dance partner, cyclist, card player, and trash to treasure expert, Flo excelled in hospitality and kindness to everyone who crossed her path. Through her daily positive approach to life and everything it sends your way, she taught us all not only about faith and resilience but also how to live, love and especially laugh.
