Frank E. Lanterman, 88, of Berlin Center, passed away on January 14, 2019 at his daughter residence after a long illness. Frank was born November 9, 1930 in Canfield, the son of Frank J. and Laura (Cochel) Lanterman. Prior to retirement at General Motors, Frank worked at Youngstown Steel Tank. Frank loved golfing, hunting, playing cards and gardening. Frank was in a country western band, which he played lead guitar and sang and recorded a single, "Astronauts Were Puzzled" in the 1960s. He was an avid Buckeye fan. Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy M. (Edling), whom he married on June 29, 1989; his children Cheryl Snow of Salem, Lisa Poynter of North Benton; step children Glenn Bartholow and Tammy (Rick) Berringer of Newton Falls; his siblings Jack (Virginia) Lanterman of Washingtonville, Charles Lanterman Ellsworth, Evelyn Prozy of Lake Milton, William (Kathy) Lanterman of Diamond, Phyllis Harmon of Berlin Center, James (Rosemary) Lanterman of Canfield, and Dale (Linda) Lanterman of Canfield; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two step grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Dolores Yeager, Bernice Pike, and George Lanterman. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 5:00- 7:00 PM and Thursday, January 17, 2019 an hour prior to the service at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
