Frank McCluskey of Brookfield, formerly of Murrysville, PA, died at 8:00 PM Sunday at his daughter’s home. He was 84. Mr. McCluskey was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 18, 1921, a son of Robert and Emma Lehman McCluskey He was a 1939 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. Frank went on to graduate from Westinghouse Technical at California College. Frank served in the United States Army’s 5th Ranger Battalion from June 24, 1944 to Dec. 23 1945. He retired from Westinghouse’s East Pittsburgh Facility in 1983 after 43 years of employment as a Supervisor. His wife, Lois M. Whitcomb McCluskey, whom he married April 8, 1944, died Nov. 19, 2003. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Pat (Ladd) Thompson of Mercer, PA, and Susan (Mark) Gruver of Canfield, OH.; 1 sister Catherine (Warren) Farnsworth; 1 brother, Chuck McCluskey; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas and Steven Gruver, Jennifer Scharba, Ryan (Nicole) Kociela, and Mark Thompson.; 4 great grandchildren, Tyler, Callan, and Ashley Scharba, and Nathan Patryk Kociela; Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 daughter, Karen Sienkiewicz; 2 sisters, Marie Stephensky and Louise McCluskey; 3 brothers, Gene, Bobby, and Billy McCluskey; 2 sister-in-laws, Elsie and Dorothy McCluskey; 1 brother-in-law, John Stephensky. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Rev. Jeff Harter, Chaplin for Family Hospice. Friends and Family may call one hour prior to service. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Volunteer Service at UPMC Horizon.
