Gail M. Murphy

Gail M. Murphy, 75 of Boardman passed away Friday evening at Hospice House of Poland, Ohio with her family at her side. Gail was born in Castle Hayne, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Clayton and Gwen (Myers) Moore and had lived in Florida until moving to this area in May of 2009 to be close to her grandchildren. She graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa with her Bachelor's Degree in Social Services. Gail worked for the Department of Children and Families for the state of Florida for over 25 years, retiring in October 1998. She continued her career in social work providing English education to Spanish speaking immigrants and long term care for the elderly. Gail was a devout member of the Self-Realization Fellowship for over 35 years. She leaves her two daughters, Paige (Jamey) Solmen of Canfield, Ohio Lana Murphy of Sarasota, Florida; two grandchildren, Jordan Solmen and Jay Solmen. Besides her parents, Gail was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Moore. There will be a family Celebration of her Life in Anna Marie Island, Florida and Canfield, Ohio at later dates. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
