Gary Christy

Funeral services celebrating the life of Gary "Bud" Christy Jr. will be held at 1 PM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Gary passed away Saturday evening at his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 48. Gary was born April 25, 1969 in Youngstown the son of Gary Sr. and Carol (Sommer) Christy. He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School class of 1987. Gary was a volunteer with Southside Hospital in the gift shop and run the book cart, and was honored for his more than 1000 hours of volunteer work. He was a member of St. Christine Church. Gary was an avid Steelers fan and a Lions Fan, as well as a music enthusiast, and a collector of sports cards. He leaves his parents with whom he made his home, two sisters, Susan (Michael Broadwater) Christy of Cincinnati, and Jeanine (Tammy DeMarco) Christy of Austintown, a nephew Thomas Pallo Jr. and a niece Chelsea Pallo, as well as his golden retriever Blazer. Gary was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Friends may call from 11 AM until 1 PM Thursday, September 21, at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel where services will begin at 1 PM.
