Gary Franklin Ptak

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Catherine Church for Gary Franklin Ptak, 73, of Lake Milton. Gary passed away Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at his home. He was born January 23, 1944 in Cleveland, the son of William and Ottilie (Tillie) (Botz) Ptak. Gary retired from LTV Steel in Cleveland in 2004 where he had worked for more than 25 years. He was an Army veteran and a member of the parish. His hobbies included boating, camping and model trains. He was also a member of the HiLo Club. Gary leaves his wife of 40 years the former Janet Smyth, whom he married September 29, 1978, one daughter Rebecca Berry Gentile of Richfield, OH., and three grandchildren, Mackenzie Nagoda, Jessica Gentile and Nicholas Gentile. Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother Bill Ptak. Friends may call from 11 AM until 1 PM at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Catherine Church where a mass will begin at 1 PM.
