Gary Lee Timko

Memorial services celebrating the life of Gary Timko will be held at 1 pm Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. Gary was born June 21, 1947 in Warren the son of John and Betty (Smith) Timko. He graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1966, after graduation Gary served in the Army from 1967 to 1969. He spent 1 year in Vietnam with the 3rd & 6th artillery and was awarded: The Army Commendation Medal". Gary worked for US Steel for 12 years and in construction for 20 years before retirement. Gary was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Ohio State Football and YSU Football. He loved listening to all types of music especially live bands and enjoyed taking his sports car to car shows. His pride and joy was Sunni, who he called his granddogger Gary will be sadly missed by his son Brent (Heidi Polonus), grandchildren; Chase Ramsey, Brody Polonus, Grayson Polonus, his long time companion of nearly 25 years Vikki Greene and his former wife Marjorie.. He will also be missed by his siblings John (Chicki) Timko, Wendy Lawrence Timko and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call from 12pm until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. The Timko family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Louis Stokes Cleveland VA/ Wade Park Campus.
